About fitness in cricket, specifically fast bowling - the why, what & how. Meet the coaches, learn what you will gain from the course, how it will help you, and what you will be capable of post-course.
Addressing the currents fads, myths and crazes about cricket strength and conditioning training. This module teaches you how to manage the trends and if and when to actually implement them to best suit your bowler.
The how's and why's of pre-screening and testing weeks - what is involved, how do you conduct testing in the real world, and what's required in a pre-exercise and pre-screening questionnaire? Working out areas of injury prevention and bowling speed enhancement through specific testing.
Planning yearly training programs, managing pre-season and in-season training loads, and finding the best method for each bowler. How to combine all the facets of training to peak at the right time.
Learn about bowling training variables, bowling workloads, bowling detraining and the Artificial Intelligence bowling program to help maximise speed and bowling endurance.
The importance of cricket-specific speed and specific agility training. Speed is critical in perfoming well in cricket, from the bowling run up to ball chases in the field, and running between wickets. We also need to train the ability to repeat these at high intensity. Learn how in this module
The importance of cardiovascular or aerobic training for cricketers. Why it's important for fast bowlers, how they can improve, and learn how to implement a yearly bowling-specific program.
Discover the importance of strength-based training for increased bowling speed, as well as reducing injury risk associated with fast bowling. Learn how to manipulate training blocks to peak at the right time with regards to prehab, strength and power, specific for fast bowling.
Learn about the importance of recovery techniques in maximising adaptability between sessions. Jock will also take you through mobility and flexibility techniques and how to implement these to improve key areas and be physiologically ready for each game.
This final module consolidates your learning and provides you with a complete yearly training plan. Formulate a full and well-structured plan for one of your key bowlers, which you can then adapt to other members of your squad using your knowledge. Jock will help you all the way through this.

Since 1987, Jock has been perfecting and implementing the science and practicalities of sports high performance.
Jock was the Head Strength & Conditioning coach for the Australian Cricket Team between 2000-2005. During this period the team was World Champions in both Test Match and One Day Cricket, as well as being voted Number 1 Team in the World (in any sport) at the Prestigious Loreus Awards in 2003. During the 2004/05 Season the Team also had its lowest percentage of injuries in recorded history. In 2017, he launched BOWLFIT with Mitch Johnson, the world's first Cricket Fitness training app.
